2nd AM - Reflections…
The second morning in Westerly I left a little later because some big thunderstorms rolled through the area. I obsessively checked my weather app until I saw that the lightening had moved out and then I immediately was out the door and on my way. There was only a light mist for part of the way and by the time I got back to the cove - there was no mist and everything was perfectly still - the pond was light glass. There are mornings like this where honestly you wouldn’t know if you were looking at the sky or the water because the water is so perfectly reflecting the sky - truly spectacular. This was one of those mornings... I set up low again just about where I had the day before and I didn’t have to wait long as a flash of wings caught my eye low and slightly to my left…
I hope that you enjoy the stillness and beauty of this morning…
A perfect 10!
Just putting these together for you brings back that very special feeling of calm to me… just like when I was there witnessing these incredible moments…
Next - guess who came flying in? A beautiful Willet… I have so wanted to capture a photo like this for quite some time…where does the sky end and the water begin?
Sometimes the magic of a morning just keeps on giving….. a Piping Plover…
And giving…
I had to keep shooting… this was too good to be true….
As soon as I looked up I saw this incredible sight….
After this unforgettable time at the pond it was now time to head back slowly…
As I was walking back on the path I was being serenaded by the beautiful song of Eastern Towhees…. now I had to find one…. and I did…
Once again giving thanks for all that Mother Natures shares with us….
