That Adorable Fogo Fox Family
My last sighting of the adorable Fogo fox family was in the dying light of yet another incredible day for me on Fogo. I decided I would go after dinner and see if I had any luck seeing the family - did I ever - I saw them instantly! I had two challenges - the dying light and where to set up. I finally picked my spot and as soon as I did I lost sight of them - the three kits were running around like crazy! I was looking directly into the sun, away from the sun, and all around for them.
Out of nowhere the kits came running just below me! How refreshing to see adorable creatures in full play mode! It was the first time I had seen all three kits at the same time - Two tawny ones and one that was like dark chocolate.
In an instant they were gone… and then this one came back around on the dirt road just below me!
This one came around from my left -
Off to the races!
The other tawny one popped up -
The littlest one came back - to my left again
The race was really on now! The one in the lead has something round in its mouth - all 3 of them had been digging and this one got the prize!
Way over to my left -
I lost sight of them again just after I took the above shot. I decided to head back to my original spot and just hope they came back around… and about 10 minutes later they did.
The littlest one was tired and took a rest for a couple of seconds -
To my right - are you kidding me? Here we go again!
How about this lighting? wow… for a split second this one sat still…Right after this shot I lost sight of all of them again.
I heard a little cry and spun around to look behind me… Mom had arrived!
Stunning creatures…
The kits were soooo hungry!
Incredible - Mom wanted to go but that little chocolate one was so darn hungry…
I just can’t get over how spectacular Mom’s tail is -
Off to the races with Mom -
I will end with the following series… touching beyond words. Everything was in shadows behind me - this was THE spot with the last light of the day.
This is not my last Fogo post but it is my last post with this beautiful fox family. Kim, have an incredible time on Fogo in September - I know that you will - it is magical.
