One beautiful moment…
I am currently in Ptown and am still working to try and figure out the issue that is happening when I post multiple photos - so just know I am getting help and no doubt this will be resolved! Since I can’t share multiple photos I want to share one photo with all of you from this morning.
When I woke up this morning everything was totally socked in with fog - mid 50’s for temps and low tide -perfect. I immediately got dressed and put on my raincoat and grabbed one camera with my new lens. I went right out my door onto the beach on the east end of Ptown. A couple of years ago I found out that a Great Blue Heron liked to hang out at dawn and sunrise on the beach on the east end. I was hoping that he was still keeping to his routine and that I would spot him. So off I went in fog so thick I could barely see 2 feet in front of me. Since there was no wind all I could hear was the water very gently rolling in and out at low tide - it was a beautiful cadence and immediately helped me slow my pace. I walked very slowly on the beach towards MacMillan Pier.
Great Blue Herons spook very easily… so I knew I had to continue walking as quietly and slowly as possible while scanning the horizon as best as I could through the fog and drizzle. The sun was trying unsuccessfully to poke through the dense fog creating a very otherworldly setting all around me - truly breathtaking. I kept changing the settings on my camera with the challenging lighting - I knew I had to be ready. My morning outings are filled with very long moments of quiet and then in a moment everything changes - I am always trying to be ready - just in case…
Well my dear friends and family…. it all came together for this one shot that last lasted no longer than the time it took me to push my shutter button. A moment of quiet beauty with no horizon.
I hope that you enjoy.
Wishing us all moments of calm and peace…
